🌹Welcome to May🌹

My Dear Readers,

🌹Welcome to May!!!🌹It’s May! I can hardly believe it. But it’s May 1st. What can I say? Time seems to have become blended into everything. Or at least that’s how it feels for me. But don’t worry,  I have better news for you…..

I’m in the process of releasing another book. YAY. At least, my writing is going well.

This month’s plans:

May I just say that I have been doing a lot of writing… So, yes, in writing I  would love to finish another of my Works in Progress because I want to make sure that I have more books ready in the first draft to send for edits and to schedule for publication.

Also, I may start some edits for my New Release this month. So, I’ll let you know when that is coming out. I’m so excited to release this new book.  I’m eager to make more book things for it. It could take some time to get a book released and then to get copies of the book but I will get it done. Being a self published Author is amazing!! I can set my own schedule, write all the time, and not worry about having my story being not good enough for publication. Mostly, I am my own boss. Yes, I can say that now.

To be honest with you, writing has gotten easier because I’m able to clear my mind and focus on my writing more now. I was always running around,  doing a million things at once and now I can focus just on writing. Now, I’m not aiming to write faster, just more frequently than before. I know that I am not fast at writing, even writing these blog posts takes time, but I love doing it which is more important. This is why this month I want to focus on writing more. I have nothing else to do, really 😄. So why not?

Life has become quite monotonous here and that’s okay. I love the fact that I don’t have to go anywhere, that I can take my days slow and get more done. When the world is scary outside, I can stay at home and finally finish all my writing projects that I have been writing. Write my blog posts and enjoy being a full time Author. Yes, I find that I have been able to enjoy being a full time Author more every day now. I find comfort in the fact that I have the freedom to do what I love. I have joy in the fact that I always have something to do even if it is just to write a blog post or create a teaser image for my books.  No matter how small it is, I have the freedom to do that. Of courser I  miss being able to order books or order my Author things like bookmarks and flyers and pens and stickers but it’s okay because I’m not going out there to mail anything. Working from home every day even things are great has its advantages.

Today, I choose to think about all the books I am going start writing as well as those I plan to finish. Today, I choose to focus on the positive things that are around me. And I have a feeling that I may have books and releases to come out of this time than I thought. So, this month, I promise to write more and hopefully soon I’ll have a release for you.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Yours truly,

My 500 Words Challenge

My Dear Future Readers:

Today, I want to tell you about something that I took on to do this year. It’s called The 500 Words Challenge. The challenge is to write at least 500 words per day in order to finish what you are writing faster.

Of course, I don’t consider myself a great writer. But I still thought that I could try it. My goal this year was indeed to write everyday no matter how hard it may seem. I am indeed going to be a full time Author so why not start with writing everyday? There is no reason why I could not do it. Which is why I took on this challenge.

The 500 Words Challenge OR Daily Writing Habit

My 500 Word Challenge is making me more disciplined to write everyday.  It gives me a limit that I try to reach. But no one says that I only need ton write 500 words. At least implies a minimum but not a maximum. So, I try to write as much as I possibly can.

Today (Day 9-January 15th), I wrote 302 in my Work In-Progress but then I decided to write this blog post which also counts towards my word count goal.

What I Am Thinking As I Write Out My 500 Word Minimum?

The tiny voices in my head fight to be heard. Some days I feel like I am pushing myself, like today (January 15, Day 9 of the Challenge).

“Come on, you can do it. Just a few more words.” But sometimes, it is really hard to get started with writing my Work-In-Progress because I have a minimum of 500 words to write a day. As I continue on my daily writing schedule, I realized something important.

“It is never about the amount of words I write a day but rather that I keep writing everyday.”

If I don’t write 500 words as a minimum at least I am writing. Also, any type of writing is still writing whether it was a blog post or my books that I still write.

Writing is Who I am as a person and it is what I do. I may get discouraged at times that I don’t write as much as I would like to but I have to learn that negative self-talk will not help me write more. It is about the positive things that keep me writing.

Of course, I want to write as much as possible. My Goal for the 500 word challenge is to change my mindset. Let me explain…. My mindset about writing has always been this: Write whenever you have time to write or inspiration. Once the inmspiration to write is gone, you can’t write anymore.

However, that mindset is WRONG. And I will tell you why. It is wrong because what if you never have the inspiration to write?  What if you criticize yourself too much to even begin writing? You will never start if you don’t sit down everyday and write at least something. After all, inspiration comes to those who practice writing and work hard on a daily basis.

All writers have to understand that writing takes patience and practice. No one becomes a great writer overnight. I am did not write my first book, Book 1: Forbidden Love of my series overnight. I worked hard to have what I have now. No, back then, I thought that I would write when inspiration came knocking on my door, but I was WRONG. Years passed, and only now I understand that writing 500v words a day is not as hard as it would have seemed to me before.

After all, it is only 500 words that can make my total word count increase everyday and I would be doing what I love EVERYDAY! Is it not the goal then to have the time to do what you love everyday?

That is why I am doing the 500 Words Challenge since 2016 has started. I have organized my day so that I have time to write 500 words everyday and at the end of the day I feel great that I did my 500 Words. (This post is 680 words and I am proud of it! )
