The Creation of a Brand: Diana Rose

My Dear Future Readers:

Today, there is something very exciting I want to say. I think that I have finally achieved something that I thought was far from my reach.

People keep talking about branding and creating a Brand that other people might be interested in. A Brand for a product. At first I did not think of my writing as a “Product” and it made no sense to me what everyone was talking about. The question was: How can an author make a Brand? How is a book a “Product” that needs to be “Branded”?

However, after attending Jessica Lauryn’s release party on October 20th which I talked about in one of blog posts, Reflection After A Passionate Play’s Release Party Co-Hosted by Diana Rose I realized that I had created a Brand. Yes, writing can be created into a Brand.

A Brand is something visual and can be portrayed clearly for people want to buy the product. Let me tell you that my visual representation is quite memorable. I believe that once people got used to seeing my cover picture on my Author Page, it became my Brand.

That picture is a symbol of the union between the Moon Kingdom and Earth Kingdom which I write about in my book, Book 1: Forbidden Love in my Power of Love Series. The garden in that picture is similar to the garden where my two main characters met for the first time. Of course, with so much symbolism involved in this picture, I was pleasantly surprised when it accepted as a part of my Brand.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Diana Rose is a Brand as well as a person! It’s Official now!

To me, this is a GREAT honor. I feel that I have become someone more than an author. I have become a recognizable icon for my readers. Yes, that is a good thing. Why? Because whenever people see that picture on a screen in my Author Page or even on my Blog, they know who it belongs to. And that is the most important thing.

A Brand can sell the product even before the product is available.

At least that is what I heard from people. I’m not sure that it is true yet but I am eager to find out. However, I will say one thing…..True love is for EVERYONE. No matter how you go about finding it. That is what my books are about and that is what I represent. I represent the HOPE and REASSURANCE that true love exists and can be unveiled. Everyone deserves to find true love. I believe that through my books that are yet to be published, my future readers might find an answer to the question that has everyone confused……..Where do I look for true love? Does true love really exist? Will I ever find my true love?

Like many of you, I myself am still looking for the answers to these questions.I believe that if I can find the answers to these questions then, I can help you find the answers as well.

This is EXACTLY what my Brand is about.

My Brand and the books I write are for those people who need answers to the questions that love forces us to think about. It is all about the way you express yourself and show people who you are. Love comes to those who don’t pretend to be something they are not. Be yourself and love will find you. That is one of the things I believe is a good method in finding love.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Yours Truly,

Diana Rose

Author Lesson #8: Author Education

My Dear Future Readers:

Today, I want to talk about Author Education. It sounds funny, doesn’t it? Author Education….Sounds like a silly thing. Do Authors have special schools or colleges where a major can say: Authors and Editors: How to write a book in the correct format for publication. Yes, you are probably laughing like I would have laughed long ago.

But Author Education is just like any other type of education there is. You need to read specific books designed for the field of study you are in. Of course, there are no tests and no grades. No one to check how well you know what you read except for you. You need to apply what you read to your writing and that is the only sure way to know if you have studied well enough to use what you know.

Many starting out authors lack the knowledge that in order to succeed in any profession and thereby become a Professional in the Writing and Publishing World. But I think that since I am a starting out author, I needed a little push-shall I say to be on the same level as the well-known author who are Best-Sellers. That is why I try to read as much about writing as I can so I can do a better job of writing my books.

After all, life is about always going forward and learning as much as you can. I love what I do. I love the idea of writing everyday. I know that I have a long way to go before I become a well-known author but I know that I will get there. Author Education is about improving what you have been working hard at. It is about learning more about how to make your writing better. Nothing is made overnight but if you put put the effort in it is worth it.

Author Education is a type of self-education that no one can teach you in school. Why? Well, in school children are taught things like English, Math, Science, History. Teachers are not skilled in writing. So, if you want to learn how to be an author, YOU need to educate yourself.

HOW do you educate yourself in the art of being an author?

Well I found a way to do that. I figured out something…..not all bookstores sell books on writing and how to write better. Not every library has a clear guide to how to write clearer. It was up to me to find the reading materials I needed. Yes, maybe this too will sound funny to you, but I went online to and started to do research on books about writing different kinds of scenes, editing, and how to become a successful author.

It is with these different books that I started to learn the things that Best-Selling authors already knew. I also found books on marketing and other such books. Yes, I plan on reading them and rereading them for information that I don’t know. After all, I am just starting to become an author.

Now……I say that I am a full-time author all the time. But what does a full-time author mean exactly?

That’s a good question. Honestly, I’m still figuring it out. The only I know is that a full-time author writes. Yes, that might seem funny to you but yes, writing is what makes an author. Also, what I learned is that an author has to maintain a website and yes, a blog is a website.

Writing on the blog is what I do to keep my audience reading my writing. My blog is like a preview of my style of writing. No, I don’t write and publish posts everyday but I try my best to not let my blog go without a post for months. I want you to know that finding something to write about on my blog is not easy. Every time I sit down to write on my blog it feels like all the topics I could have written about were already written in my other posts. But I still seem to find something to write about……MAGICALLY.

Another part of being a full-time author is editing your work. Let me tell you, editing is serious work and time consuming. It is essential for publishing a good book that you can be proud of. An Author Lesson #2: Editing is WORK in this blog post I explain detail what the editing process is. It’s not as scary as it sounds. But it is a big part of being a full-time author.

Being a full-time author means that you can devote all your time to writing, editing and promoting your books on your blog and online. It is quite fun once you get used to the Public Eye.

I always love reading and learning about writing but most of all I love my readers and posting new blog posts for them. I love to edit my writing as much as I love writing because editing is also very educational for me as a new author.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Reflection After A Passionate Play’s Release Party Co-Hosted by Diana Rose

My Dear Future Readers,

On October 20th, I was asked to be a guest author at Jessica Lauryn’s Release Party for her new book, (You can click on the link to purchase the book here…) A Passionate Play.

To say that I was thrilled is not say anything at all. I was on cloud nine at the opportunity I was presented with. Jessica Lauryn was an excellent hostess. She kept everything running smoothly. Everyone she invited had a chance to introduce themselves and their books, play7 a game  or two and interact.

Honestly, I was quite happy that I got to know such wonderful women authors during the Release Party. With every new Author who was introduced, Jessica Lauryn found a creative way to introduce the Author Speaker. For Kristine Reynolds, Jessica Lauryn used a poster type picture that explained who she was. It was unexpected and creative at the same time.

Kristine Reynolds writes Western Romances. So, she made a contest about Western scenes. I entered twice. Yes, twice. I don’t know why but I wanted to show that I had some knowledge about western romance. I did not win her contest though.

But I won something even better……

When Jessica introduced me as the next Guest Author, I was a bit nervous. I had been thinking very hard about what kind of contest I would invite the guests to participate  in and I finally came up with one. I wanted to know which romantic scene and wedding in a Disney or non-Disney was their favorite. I think as an Author of Young Adult Fantasy Romance that was a fitting contest.

But…..Besides that..What touched me in my introduction at the Release Party was not the warm welcome of the attendees. But the WAY Jessica Lauryn introduced me.

The above picture was my introduction at the Release Party. That was the best gift I have ever received. Of course, I love to have books as gifts. Who doesn’t if you are an author?  But this was the most touching gift I have ever received. I almost cried when I saw how Jessica Lauryn made my Author Page’s cover photo come alive with putting my name and genre on it.

It feels like this is the first step closer to having my name in lights. I feel acknowledged and I feel that I matter, my work matters. Jessica Lauryn has finished one series, The Pinnacles of Power Series with five books and started another series, The Rabourn Theater Series now with A Passionate Play. But I never felt inferior in comparison to her success. She supports me and now with this spectacular cover photo, I feel like I can honestly say, “I have created my Brand.” This new cover photo which I already placed on My Author Page on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, I tried to put it on YouTube too. Now, it is representing me.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Jessica Lauryn for such a beautiful cover and representation of my Brand. Gosh, I can’t believe that I, Diana Rose, have a Brand. It’s true. But I feel like I’m dreaming. It is a good dream. I feel like I am finally on the road to success. I have a Brand!.

I created something more than beautiful ideas for a book, I created a Brand. It feels great. And honestly being asked to join in Co-hosting a Release Party is a huge honor.

My winner was Zara West. And she won a Moon tote and a castle bookmark. I did not get a chance to send it to her yet but I will hopefully. It was a fun contest and everyone gave interesting answers. I really did enjoy my time and being acknowledged like that was the best gift I could have gotten. It was incredible being able to interact with well-known authors at a Release Party.

Being a full-time author is the BEST job in the world. My life has become so much better since I started writing full time in January 2016. I feel like I have truly embraced who I was meant to be. I’m meeting wonderful authors of different genres online and hopefully I can meet them in person one day and going to Jessica Lauryn’s Book Release Party was the best part of all!!!!

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Author Interview: Diana Rose and Her Thoughts

My Dear Future Readers:

I finally got free of a particularly hard edit that I was doing for Book 1: Forbidden Love of my Power of Love Series. Editing takes up most of my time now because I want to make my book as perfect as it can be for you and that is why I have not posted a blog post in a long time. I do apologize for that.

BUT……I am going to answer some more questions for you in this blog post. I always try to be honest in answering these questions so I hope you enjoy the answers.

  1. If you could mention one thing people get wrong about you, what would it be?

Hm……One thing that people get wrong about me would have to be my name. I, honestly don’t know why. I always laugh but it’s kind of funny. People usually call me Diane or Dianne or my favorite out of everyone is Deanna. I just laugh it off. Sometimes I correct the person who writes my name wrong and sometimes I don’t. I figure, it still sounds the same so why correct them.

But I spell my name as D.I.A.N.A. It still amazes me how people get my name wrong after they know me for years.

2. If you had all the money in the world, what would be the one frivolous thing you would do?

Oh, if I had money……Real money and a lot of it, I would probably buy a large house. I would go on vacation every three months. I would have three homes each in a location where the weather would be good. For example, if it is snowing in New York, I would go live in Florida for the winter. I would go to see Italy, France, I hear the Eiffel Tower is beautiful. I would go vacationing to a beautiful Caribbean Island.

New York will always be my home but I want to do things I was not able to do before. I want to things I was not allowed to do before. I want to go to Disneyland. Yes, Disneyland. Don’t laugh at me because I know it’s childish.  But I still want to go and see it.

3. Have you ever met a famous person?

A famous person? Hm…..Only once, I think. I went to a book signing in Barnes and Noble . He was a children sports book writer. I remember I sat in the last row away from the children. I was the only grown up there. The rest of the attendees were from an elementary school. I was too shy to ask questions or even to buy the book the author had come to talk about. But I thought it was well done and the sentiments that his characters were centered on his childrern was quite sweet.

However, I did not meet him in person and I can’t say I talked to the author, I think it still counts.

4. If you could pick the best movie you ever saw, what would it be?

The best movie I ever saw……Hm…….I’ve seen a lot of good movies. I watch romantic movies. I loved the movie, The Notebook and The Lucky One. Both of them were written by Nicholas Sparks. Also, there was A Recipe for Love, A Kiss at Midnight and Sounds of Music.

Yes, I agree, this is a list of more than one movie and there are more. But, I must say that I can’t choose only one movie out of so many great ones. It is like choosing my favorite book. I LOVE books and I can’t choose one out of so many. But as I said, I do love to watch movies and read books so it is no wonder I have a list.

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers. I will have more questions and answers for you next time. You can also comment your questions on this blog post and I will answer them for you.

I look forward vto hearing from myou soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Yours Truly,

Diana Rose
