Thankfulness of an Author

My Dear Future Readers:

I want to wish every one of you a very Happy Thanksgivings Day.. It is the day that we give thanks for everything we have. But should we not be thankful for the people and things we have, every day of our life? I believe that Thanksgiving is not for one day of the year. It is a holiday that can be celebrated everyday.

Everyday, there is a reason to be thankful. Everyday, the sun shines in our windows and the birds chirp their beautiful songs. In life there are moments when we should look for ways to be thankful no matter how bad our day is going. But today, I want to say that there are things that we should all be thankful for and always remember.

The Everyday List of Thanks:

  • We must always be thankful for the sky that is blue and the air that we breathe.
  • We must be thankful for the plants and flowers and the nature all around us.
  • We have to be thankful for the families we have and the friendships we acquired.
  • We must be thankful for our parents and grandparents because they made us who we are today.
  • We have be thankful that we have places that we can come home to every night. That we have beds and things that we use everyday that we need.
  • We have to be thankful for the things that we can do like, reading and writing and having the ability to use technology and think.
  • We must be thankful for the different people we we meet because whether they are bad or good we all learn life lessons that we can’t live without./

There are many more things that we as people should be thankful for. But now, I want to talk about my own list of things that I am thankful for.

My List of Thanks

Every day, I am thankful. I know that today is the day for that and I want to express my thanks.

I want to thank YOU for being a faithful  future reader. After all, without all of you who are reading my blog and liking my Author Page (Diana Rose Author Page )  none of this could be possible. You make things happen.

I want to thank my mother who taught me most of the things I do today. But most of all how make decisions and stay by them. She taught me that I should always keep going no matter how hard life gets. “There’s always tomorrow.” It means that I can always try again and that I should never lose hope. There are so many other things that my mother taught me but it is going to take a long time to list them all. I just want to say that she always makes life seem brighter no matter and no matter what happens, I can always count on her to be there for me no matter what life throws at me. I am  extremely grateful to have a mother who can know even without words what I need and how I feel.

I am thankful for the friends that I have even there aren’t many that I see everyday, the ones who are in other states, I am grateful for the care and love I feel from you that helps me get through my day. I am grateful for the comments that I get from my friends on Facebook and that I don’t feel so alone when I have someone to talk to.

I am grateful for the opportunity and ability to be a full-time author and having a chance to make my writing better everyday. I’m grateful for the support I have.

I am thankful for all the things that were named in the above list. Also, I am grateful for the talent I have and the creativity I have to write my books.

I wish you all a HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY!!!

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

The Writing Lessons and Webinars on Being a Great Author

My Dear Future Reader:

So, recently, I was invited to participate in a webinar called the SOAR Program. Honestly, I am doing this because I want to learn more about how to become a successful Author. It might help me learn the skills I need to know in order to be a good author.

The developer of this program, Mike Allison is an author, blogger, and an online coach for writers and bloggers. I have included his website here (SOAR Program-Mike Allison).

I will tell you one thing that I know for sure……You can never know enough about what you do. There will always be someone who knows something that you don’t. It is up to you decide if you want to learn or you close yourself off to learning.

I am the kind of person who never wants to stop learning. Especially, because I am learning about writing. I am an author and I want my readers to know that I don’t take what I do lightly. It is always good to find ways how to improve yourself I believe that is true. A friend of mine once told me:

“If you don’t know something, read about it in a book, research it.”

-Dan San, Director at Meural, Entrepreneur & Creative Artist

I have been doing that ever since and it is true. You can learn more in a book and by researching than anywhere else.

This is also why I am attending the webinar tomorrow. To learn and improve my views of success. It is easy to listen to a webinar. But it is hard when you make mistakes that you regret later. Maybe, it will be helpful and I might know than I know today.

The webinar will start tomorrow on this website, SOAR Webinar. I do hope this helps someone who is writing as well.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

To Do NANOWRIMO Or Not to Do NANOWRIMO, That is the Question.

My Dear Future Readers:

Tomorrow is November 1st. It is the start of the National Novel Writing Month. I participated for four years in a row and I never won or even gotten the 50,000 words required to win. I was disappointed in myself that I could not sit down and write my Work-In-Progress everyday. Of course, I had a reason.

Every year during the month of November, I had to submit some kind of essay, study for some kind of midterm in college and the time just slipped away from me. By the time, I would finish with my exams and essays that I had to do, November was half way over and I had no energy left to write in my Work-In-Progress.

But……The Question remains.

Do I want to participate in  the National Novel Writing Month this year?

The answer is not simple nor is it an easy decision. Yes, I do want to prove to myself that I can finish a novel in one month and at least get into the habit of everyday writing. But, I feel like if I try and I don’t get to the end of the month, I might be more disappointed. Of course, it is a tempting idea because now that I am no longer pulled down by college and studying for exams, I might be able to write more in the Work-In-Progress than I did in the previous years.

However, after all the disappointments of the last four years, I feel that I can’t bring myself to do it again. I think that as my life showed that there are more important things than doing the National Novel Writing Month. I don’t understand it but I think this year I might give my Overconfident Ideals a break. It is after all about writing everyday. I think I have been doing that off and on on my own.

So, to answer the question. I  decided to still write everyday but not in such a tight schedule. After all, even if I do not participate, I am still a writer and an author. I still write books and I am still following my dream of being a full-time author. The National Novel Writing Month is for practice and I love to practice writing but with everything else that I have  going on I can’t possibly divide myself into ten million pieces.

What I will be doing instead of the National Novel Writing Month?

I plan to keep writing my blog posts throughout the month of November. I want to continue doing edits for Book 1:Forbidden Love. Testing my writing abilities against myself within 20 days does not seem like a good idea at the moment. But…..if I could write a blog post twice or even three times a week during the month of November and get more likes on my Author Page, I would call that an achievement. Even if my blog posts are not going to equal 50,000 words, I still think that it would be a great improvement because I am being realistic about my abilities.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.
