My Dear Future Readers:
It is today that is February 1st.
February 1st…..a usually happy day for my family. But today something is quite different. Today it is a sad day for the first time in a long time.
February 1st will always be the day of the anniversary when my grandparents married.
Today is the 71st Wedding Anniversary of my grandparents marriage. They lived a very happy life together. Yes, it is sad that they are no longer alive. It is sad that I will not take the car service or the two buses to go to see my grandparents and wish them a Happy Anniversary
My grandfather was a very supportive and compassionate, caring, loving, and understanding person. He was very optimistic about life and he supported my grandmother who was always worrying about everything.
They were my first teachers about true love because even if my grandmother was always worried and unsure, he was sure. He was her brick wall that she could lean on in hard times and they loved us.
It is sad that I can’t go to Boro Park and see them today because my mom and I always went to see them and now all there is are memories and thoughts of how they loved us and each other.
I feel honored that I got lucky that they were always there for me. My grandfather taught me to be optimistic in life and I miss that. He was a true head of the household and no matter what I could always depend on his optimism.
My grandmother taught me to be kind and gentle with people. She was very generous with everyone no matter who it was. She would give her last piece of clothing if it helped someone stay warm. I felt happy with them. My grandmother always had a smile to share and a hug to give. She was truly a light in the most beautiful way. They completed each other and I only hope that my life would be as beautiful as the life they lived together.
I want to thank you all for caring and listening because today is truly a sad day for my family. I thank you all for your infinite support.
