My Interview on Passion Between the Pages with Jessica Lauryn

My Dear Future Readers

On Friday, June 30th, I was interviewed by Jessica Lauryn. I had interviewed her some time ago when she first published A Passionate Play. You can reread her interview here: Interview with Jessica Lauryn about A Passionate Play. I was happy to bring Jessica Lauryn on my blog and until now I did not have a chance to come to her blog until Friday.  You can read my interview on Passion Between the Pages here: Passion Between the Pages.

My Experience as in Interviewee:

When I was asked if I wanted to be interviewed. I instantly agreed. Why? Because, one: I know Jessica Lauryn for a very long time and we are good friends. Second, I loved the questions that Jessica Lauryn asked. I was excited to share with Ms. Lauryn things about my book. I wanted to make sure that people know where the idea for Book 1: Forbidden Love and the Power of Love series came from because for a long time I have not said anything about this to anyone.

Why?

Because I thought it was too soon to start talking about the ideas and inspiration for this series. But, now as I edit the book, I began to open up to the public about my inspiration for the Power of Love series. I believe that it is important for people to know that ideas for books don’t just come out of thin air. Different authors find inspiration for their books in different places.

I find my inspiration from my family’s history and the stories that my grandparents told me. I think it is important to respect the stories and love of those people who cared enough to tell you their story.

I think that my experience as an interviewee was a wonderful thing because I felt like my ideas and my words were not taken lightly and received the respect they deserved. Also, I feel like I gained more future readers after the interview than before it. That makes me happy. I wanted to reach more people and I think I did that and for that I am grateful to Jessica Lauryn. I hope to have Jessica Lauryn interview me again one day soon or I will interview her. It’s always good to have authors as friends.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

April is Camp NANOWRIMO Month

My Dear Future Readers,

So, in an attempt to get started on Book 3 (Title to be announced after the book is completed), I entered the April Camp NaNoWriMo contest.  I thought it would be a good push for me to keep writing on my work-in-progress. Yes, I started to write almost everyday but with a word goal of 15,000 words for the month, I believe that it is doable. Also, I am trying to finish Chapter 2 which is quite hard to do, I don’t know why….

Sometimes, i think it is the pressure of the idea that I am writing Book 3 already. But mostly, I believe that Book 3 is a very rough idea in my head. I have not yet figured out how to write out what I want Book 3 to say. I thought that without the pressure of 50,000 words like in November, I would have a better chance at finishing my work-in-progress. But all I feel is the lack of ideas. Honestly, that happens a lot. This is a new book and writing something new is hard for me.

Think of essays, you had to write. Starting has been hard for me since school. But, I am writing for me, for you, my dear future readers and not for a “grade” on a paper. A “grade” is a number while recognition is forever. That is also why I am doing Camp NaNoWriMo this year in April. I want to feel like I can start something and finish it in a short time frame even if I only finish a few chapters. I need to get to the middle so I can at least know that I am half way done with my work-in-progress. Which is why i am trying to write everyday and note down my plot ideas so that I don’t lose track of where I left off and have a record of my plot for later.

Plot-The main idea of the entire book……how hard can that be to write? Very hard. But also, very important. Which is why I am takking my time with Book 3 now.

I’m trying to do what I can so that I don’t get confused in my own writing. After all, I’m going to be doing this full time so I need to have my ideas organized. I need to keep my plot on paper so I don’t forget it or write it wrong.

I will tell you how far I get through Book 3 by the end of April. I want to get at least two chapters written by the end of April. So instead of Chapter two, I will be on Chapter 4 or 5. Although,  I’m not sure the halfway mark is for a book. But I’m going to keep writing anyway. April is my month toi get this Book 3 on the way. I’ve had writer’s block long enough. Now, it’s time to really start working.

“I’m eager to read more! Excellent work!” -Alyssa Nand, editor.

To get this praise from my editor is the greatest reward for me as an author. And yes, that makes me want to write more books. The more I work on Book 1 with my editor the more I see that my writing is good not just adequate. Which is why I want to write Book 3 faster and Camp NaNoWriMo will help he with that.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Big Update of My Author Life

My Dear Future Readers:

I am always writing and you know how hard writing can be for a person. I mean, I can write books but during my school years and college, I could never write essays or big papers. It scared me. But now, I feel like I am finally writing as much as I want but more importantly, I am writing what I want. That is the most important thing in my life.

As I mentioned earlier, I have been doing a lot of writing in the recent days. That is what I want to talk about in this blog post.

BIG NEWS!! UPDATES On PROGRESS!!!

During a sizeable amount of time, I have been working on Book 2: Sacrificed Love in my Power of Love Series. It’s taken me a very long time to write because it had a lot of emotional parts in it. At times, I had to stop writing because I would get too emotional. But, you know that I write romance and in writing romance I know that my books have to have a happy ending.

To be honest, writing the ending to this book was really hard. It was hard to find a suitable ending because of the events that took place in the book. I was not sure if I could even end the book at first. But……I could not leave the book unfinished either. So, I finally, sat down at my computer and reread my chapter. I started to think to myself about what I could write to finish the book.

Finally, I came up with a good enough ending for Book 2: Sacrificed Love. Of course, I left it open to be able to start Book 3.

You know, I feel FREE after finally finishing Book 2. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I feel like all the things that were weighing me down finally lifted and flew away. Do authors really feel that way when they finish a book? I don’t know but when I put the finishing period in Book 1: Forbidden Love, I cried.

What am I going to do now? I thought then. But this time on February 10, I thought, I feel great! I feel relieved. Time to start Book 3, FINALLY! I made it to Book 3. Those thoughts surprised me but I am glad that at least I did not cry.

I know that Book 3 will continue my story and I’m glad that I decided to write a series instead of just one book. Of course it is hard to start but you know, I will find a way. I have come to know my main characters so well that I believe that Book 3 will be a fun writing experience after I finish Chapter One. The first chapter, I realize now is the hardest to write. Maybe it is hard just like writing an essay but except you need to reintroduce the characters in a new way so the reader can see the main characters from a new side. That is exactly what I am trying to do with Book 3 right now.

To be honest, writing beginnings was always hard for me even in school and I think I need some time to think of a good beginning. But don’t worry, I always keep writing. I am happy that I can keep doing it. I promise, I will make Book 3 with lots of ideas and brand new plot twists just I did when I was writing my first book. It just takes time to write a novel and that I have a lot of now.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.
