Lesson # 20: Always Keep Writing

My Dear Future Readers,

I learned that no matter what is going on in your life, you should keep writing. It’s true that writing can be hard and you may not want to do it but that only means you need to put in more effort. It doesn’t matter what you write as long as you are writing.  A blog post, a letter, a book, or a note the important thing is that you write.

Writing books is hard but all you need to remember is that you need to take it one step at a time. One word at at time. One sentence at a time. Yes, sometimes even I have to remember that because writing a whole book takes time. Sometimes I don’t feel like I’m moving but really, it takes some time to write a 300 page book. But when you are on page 45, it feels like a long way to page 300. All you can do is keep writing.  No matter what anyone says or does. You have something to say so say it.

I’ve read books that I wanted to put down and yet others make me feel like I could not wait to find out what happens next. Usually these books and authors are the ones I keep reading.  Like pick an author and read all their books.  Yes, I’m a book collector.  I love book gifts. Especially, signed paperbacks. I love it. I get to read, take pictures of the book and review it.

As an author, I would love to have that kind of respons to my writing.  Yes, reviews are important.  But more important are the emotions that the book makes the reader feel. That’s why I keep writing.  I want to make my readers feel like there is hope, love, and truth in happiness. It may feel like happiness is hard to find but if you believe like the characters in romance novels,  then it is never far away. I keep writing to make the world a better place a more loving and caring place. I write about royalty but really all this can be found in the real world.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Book Review of The Runner’s Daughter by Jessica McCrory

My Dear Future Readers,

Jessica McCrory just ripped out my heart and glued it back together. She is the most incredible author I ever met. The Runner’s Daughter by Jessica McCrory is a masterpiece of epic proportions. Let me tell you, when I started reading this book,  I had no idea what I would read or how I would react to it. But, this book….ladies and gentlemen, took me through self discovery and understanding like no other book ever could. I understand who I am now and in more ways than I care to admit, I saw myself in Jemma Saige.

Jemma Saige is a headstrong woman who fought against everything that people thought she was not to free herself and to come out on top. Not every woman can do that.  But as I read the book, I began to understand that I am like her. Never stopping…going forward.

The Runners Daughter Teasers MASTER.003

The romance between Caid King and Jemma Saige was so heartwarming and at the same time heartbreaking because of the fact that Jemma was running for her life and Caid was trying to help her. At different points in the book, I found myself crying because it was so real. Especially the part with Liam Charmont, he was a true “monster” and it made me consider the people I know who act like Liam Charmont. Yes, such people exist which is why it was so real to me.

The Runners Daughter New teasers.001

I love this book so much! If I start talking about Caid… it would be about how I felt when I read this line. I felt safe and loved and I wished that Caid King was real. He is a remarkable character and I love how he “takes charge” of the situation. No matter what Caid protects the ones he loves. Jessica McCrory is an amazing person and author of romance and truthfully,  I could see all this in my head. I love the way she writes her characters and I hope that one day I can write like that.

The Runners Daughter New teasers.002

I would recommend The Runner’s Daughter by Jessica McCrory to everyone who likes romance suspense.  Trust me, this book will  keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Lesson # 18: Cover Reveals

My Dear Future Readers,

Today I want to talk to you about something fun. Covers. Book cover reveals. It’s true that my book isn’t out yet and doesn’t have a cover yet. But that does not mean I can’t talk about it.

My friend, Jessica McCrory already published eight books. The Runner’s Daughter was just published on February 15th.  I helped her with the cover reveal.

You may be wondering what is,a,cover reveal? I’ll tell you.

Lesson # 18: Cover Reveals

A cover reveal is a special day when an author gets the chance to show everyone the new cover for their new book. Some authors ask for help from other authors to help spread the word about  the new Cover. I did it for Jessica McCrory and to be honest, I really enjoyed it. I got a chance to use this blog in a new way.

I learned that besides the actual publication of a book, the cover reveal is a very exciting day in the publication process. The cover of the book is like the face of a person…every face is different and yet it has to be attractive enough for another person to stop and talk to you or buy a book. Which is why it is important to have a good cover.

I also think that the cover of a book distinguishes your book from other books. Every cover just like every author is different. The reader should be intrigued by the book cover enough to buy the book. It is important to know what you want on your cover before it comes time to put the cover on. The author’s wishes are the most important.

Don’t let anyone decide for you. Decide for yourself!!!

Remember that your cover and content define you from day one. It is up to you to write your best. Be your best. Write what you believe in.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Happy Valentine’s Day

My Dear Future Readers,

Today is February 14th, Valentine’s day. I write about true love. How can I miss such a holiday that is dedicated to the feeling of Love? You are right. I can not miss it.

On this day, Love is celebrated and it is good to spend it with the one you love. I believe that Valentine’s Day is special in this way. True love is meant to be celebrated not only on this day but every day.

Love is a feeling that always needed no matter what is happening and on this day, Love for the people around you is more visible because it is the one day when you don’t have to be shy to show what is in your heart.

Take someone you love on a romantic date and sit in a cafe surrounded by candlelight. Give the woman you love a huge bouquet of roses. Or write a poem. Or best of all propose to her with a beautiful ring. No matter what the expression of love will be, it will be memorable because it was Valentine’s Day.

I write romance and read romance only because the way that a person cares for another person is the best expression of Love that there ever was.

The heart is made for feelings and it is indeed our heart that can never stay neutral to the attention we {women} receive on Valentine’s Day. It is this day that we want and crave the attention. I believe that every person in this world should give attention to the woman’s heart.

Yes, I am not in a relationship at this time but every year, I hope that someone will remember that a woman is a woman and a person who needs to be acknowledged. Maybe, some kind of magic will happen and one day, I, too will not be alone on this day.

The Day of Love is a day that should be for everyone and not just for couples. But I believe that Love is something that everyone feels and it doesn’t matter if you are in love or you are just spending the day with friends and family.

Today is a day to show love for the people who you love.  Yes, many people are single but if you care about someone it doesn’t have to be lonely.

Valentine’s Day is a special and beautiful day.

Roses are the best symbol of love and Valentine’s Day. Red roses express romance and passion in the language of flowers.

Roses…Roses….Roses are in the dreams of every woman on Valentine’s Day.  But for women who don’t have a relationship,  they can just be happy to hear words of love from family.

On Valentine’s Day books about romance and true love are more than welcome in the arms of a woman. Reading about romance is almost the same as being loved.  I should know that because I have been reading and writing romance all my life and I am yet to have a great romantic Valentine’s Day.

But as everything else in my life,  it will come when it is ready.  Love is a feeling that always takes time and I am still waiting for the right person to come.

However, on this Valentine’s Day,  I want to  say that I’m grateful for all the Love I have from my friends and family and you,  my dear future readers  because no matter how much I have to wait for the right person,  I know that I have gained something more valuable and that is enough for me right now.

True love is meant to be celebrated not only on this day but every day.  Love is for everyone  and not  just a significant other.

Happy Valentine’s Day!  May be lucky to find true love and hold onto it forever because it is a very rare find.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.  I thank you all for your infinite support.

Yours Truly,

Lesson 16: Appreciate Your Readers

My Dear Future Readers,

I want to say something very important.

Authors write books so people can read and enjoy them.

I believe that readers deserve respect. Readers make the books a success. But no matter what, the author works hard to make the books that the readers hold. Editing isn’t easy or fast. It takes time and thought to make the book sound good. Trust me, no one wants to read the first draft of a book that hasn’t been edited.

The authors, no matter how a large following they have, edit all their books. But writing and editing is only the beginning. Once you write, you need to show your work which is scary. Yes, then, once all the long edits are done, it takes some time for the cover and once that pretty cover is done you publish. That’s the scariest of all.

“What will my readers think?”

“Will my book sell?”

“Will my readers like my book?”

Trust me, after all that self-doubt is done, you begin again. The hardest part is starting over. But if your readers love you, they will stay.

I believe that authors who wrote multiple books are heroes who overcame their self-doubt. I am writing again which is why I think that doing this full time and writing books is what makes authors heroes. They never stop at one book. They build on that one book and go farther.

And in turn readers should be celebrated. For all the love that they show. If you read a book you like, tell the author, thank you for working so hard to write it. Trust me, authors are people too and they have feelings too. Books take time but a simple thank you makes us, authors want to write more.

These kinds of readers are beautiful to the author. I want to thank my own group of readers for staying with me for so long because I wouldn’t be here without them. I would not even be an author if I didn’t have a reader following me. My future readers are an awesome group of people who support me so much. I love them.

I want to say thank you to all my readers.  I feel so much love from them in times of stress and doubt. They make me want to keep going. I always write new things for them. Because I love that that my readers, even though my book  isn’t out yet, support me and encourage me to keep writing.

Readers are the best support in the world and I am proud to be a part of the author community because I always fel so much love from authors as well. No other career is as rewarding as being an author.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Lesson #15: The Author Page

My Dear Future Readers,

Today, I thought I would tell you about something that I learned three years ago and I believe I am still learning it. I thought to be an author I needed to just write great books. But being an author is much  more than that. Which is why I am doing this full time.

This one word was something that I was not sure how to do. But being afraid never solves anything so I gave it a try.

Lesson 15: The Author Page

Three years ago, I created my Author Page which grew and matured from 17 likes to 2,678 likes and is still growing. To be honest with you, sometimes, I am still amazed myself at how it had grown up to this if number. This year, I hadxto recreate my author group, Discussions with Diana Rose and Her Future Readers because of the big following I have on my author page.

Now, I’m not a bestselling author yet and I’m still working on getting my first book published. But I believe that anything is possible. Now, anyone can create an author page on Facebook but I believe that only a rare percentage of people can get the amount of likes an author page needs to reach its audience.  That’s why I want to share with you what you need to do.

A lot of people asked me for advice on this, here it is….

  • Be polite to your readers. Say thank you,  please, and don’t forget that your readers are people too. Treat them with respect.
  • If you want more likes post relevant posts to what you are writing about. If you are writing about horses (a western story) don’t post about romance unless it is a western romance story.
  • ALWAYS BE PROFESSIONAL! Why did capitalize that? Because think about it…. Your author page is representative of who you are as an author. It is the first thing that a reader, literacy agent, or publisher look at when they search your name. You don’t want your author page to have things your wouldn’t want your publisher to see.
  • Also, Share, Support And Promote. Share your page on Facebook, twitter and other social media sites. Support other authors by sharing their work too. Trust me, they WILL thank you.

“Have I told you how awesome you are? Thank you.” – Keith Kareem Williams

That’s so great to hear from an author like Keith Kareem Williams. I feel appreciated. And yes, it feels awesome to be able to be helpful to another author. That’s what I meant about sharing, promoting and supporting.

Another great way to get likes for your Author page is to find posts where it says… “Follow for Follow,” “Sharing is Caring” and other such posts on Facebook. If people really like what you post, they will stay and support you.

But, most importantly, don’t worry about what other authors do. Be yourself and the audiences who are meant for you will come. Be as original as you can because everyone follows trends. Be you!

I look forward to hearing from you soon.  I thank you all for your infinite support.

Lesson # 14: Keep Creating More

My Dear Future Readers,

One lesson I learned was that no one likes a one hit wonder. Especially not in the creative fields. If you write books, write more. Don’t stop at one book. Keep going. No matter what you do whether it be writing, painting,  drawing, music…keep doing it.

“Is this your only book?” -Joe Bunting.

To be completely honest that question stunned me but I understood what he meant.  Without knowing it, Joe Bunting had taught me a very valuable lesson. Many years have passed, I am a member of the author community now in a way while waiting for my first book to come out and I am ready to share this lesson with you, my dear future readers.

Lesson # 14: Keep Creating More

My friend, Keith Kareem Williams has been writing books since 2004-present and I am inspired just by seeing him create more books than I have ever seen  any author create, except for maybe Danielle Steel. But Keith Kareem Williams is a very “real” author who I can talk to and learn from. So far, he has taught me that you need to turn that blank page and write no matter what. Find your own way to market your books or art. And don’t rely on trends. Create your own trends.

Which is also why I want to create more content for you and a place where you can read my new words. I want my readers to be able to see that I’m not just disappearing for days but that I’m working on new books for my future readers.

Also, I want to give a great big acknowledgement to Jessica McCrory who seems to be writing non-stop. Yes, I admire her. She writes beautiful romance novels. My friend, Isadora Sunday reminded me that everyone has their own pace. But I do hope that one day, I can write faster and also with better quality like these two beautiful authors.  But for now, I want my readers to know that I’m always trying to create more for them because if I was honest, I would not be an author without the people who read my blog and want to read my book. I am who I am because of you.

I hope you will enjoy my mew things when they come to this blog. SOON. I promise.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I  thank you all for your infinite support.

Yours Truly,
