But the deleted ones will go into regular blog posts. Work In Progress by Diana Rose
Excerpt from Annabella’s Beginning (Chapter One):
Once upon a time when mages and healers were real, five of the most powerful Mages created what would be known as the Elkins Islands. The land was full of life with beautiful lakes where colorful fish swam. The water seemed to glitter in the sun. Birds flew around and made their homes in the treetops. Butterflies landed on flowers as tiny grasshoppers made music with their wings. The branches of trees swayed in the light breeze. All sorts of flowers sprouted up from the ground and lifted their petals towards the warmth of the sun. Everything was so peaceful and breathtaking that if for one second a person would close their eyes, they would find tranquility.
The scent apple trees and other more exotic fruits filled the air. Those large apples that dripped with juice once they were cut were the island’s treasure. The soft breeze carried along with it the sound leaves moving in the wind. Every part of the large island had its own animals that walked freely among the trees. Baby birds tried to fly and chirped to their mothers. Somewhere on the far end of the island, a waterfall flowed down into the river below. This waterfall connected to the other parts of the island and it could been seen on the other end.
The other side of the island was also connected by the same waterfall. The glitter shined everywhere from the magic the Five Mages had used to create the Elkins Islands. Flowers and fruit that had fallen from the trees was everywhere. Every part of the magical world that the Five Mages had created was like an oasis where tranquility resided. The smaller parts of the island had secluded towns that were built farther away from the waterfall that connected each part of the larger island together.
In order to preserve the island as it is, the Five Mages used ancient magic to make the islands invisible to people who weren’t born there. These islands were small but they fit into each other like puzzle pieces that made one big island. The Five Mages infused the Elkins with their magical powers so that it would keep them safe from the outside world.
In time, people found out about the Elkins Islands and came to there because their own homes were unsafe from evil that began to spread. But with the protection of the Mages, it was easy to relax and begin life again.
I hope you enjoy it.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.
