Book Review of Star Crossed by Jessica Wayne and Meg Anne

My Dear Readers,

When I heard that Jessica Wayne was going to co-write a new book, I was intrigued from the start. Jessica Wayne is an awesome Author of Fantasy Romance and Romance Suspense. I have read  a lot of her books. I have reviewed her books as well.

Most of my reviews are on Amazon but this one was here so I am adding the link here. Book Review of Concealed by Jessica Wayne. A Tethered Duet by Jessica Wayne was my first book by this author but Concealed and Collateral Damage will always be at the top of my list just like A Tethered Duet. Don’t worry, all of Jessica Wayne’s books are awesome including the one that I will be talking about today.

Five🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟Stars for Star-crossed

To be honest with you, I could not put this book down. I read three or four chapters a day. Reading this book has been shocking to me in unexpected ways. Lucas and Skye are both different, so different from each other that no one could ever imagine that they could fit together. Lucas is a detective and Skye is an awesome artist. Their lives could not be more different. But somehow throughout the book, their destinies merge together.

Skye is determined to help Lucas solve a crime and along the way they find out that solving this crime may not be as easy as they think. Lucas discovers some shocking things about himself and at that moment it seems like fate may pull him away from Skye forever but somehow it pulls them closer and despite the fact that the murderer is out there, Lucas and Skye start developing feelings for each other. No matter how hard they try to suppress the new feeling of love, it seems to be a helpful factor in their fight for justice.

Meg Anne and Jessica Wayne weave a story like nothing I ever read before. The characters jump out of the book and demand to be heard. The idea of how magic is incorporated into the story is incredible. A druid on a killing spree, there can’t be anything better. I want to say that this book has been the best book I read that came out of a collaborative work. Somehow, these two authors made it work and the characters are even more vivid than normal. Lucas and Skye are a couple that should stay away from each other but the more I read about them, the more I think that they belong together.

For a long time, I thought writing with another Author was not a good idea. But Jessica Wayne and Meg Anne make it happen and it is magical. If there are two authors who blend together, it’s these two ladies. I would love to see them write more books together in the future because I’m hooked on this series  and can’t wait to read Book 2 and 3.

Let’s Celebrate Love on Valentine’s Day

valentines-day-gift-ideas-for-her-1050x700My Dear Readers,

Today is February 14th, Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day is meant for lovers, right? In a traditional way, yes. But, since I am still single and no, I’m not ashamed to admit it because it’s who I am, I am trying to look at love from all different angles. Love has different meanings for everyone.

On February 14th, if you are like me, try to think about the different people in your life: your parents, your siblings, your friends, your other family members, anyone who you love. A day that centers around love is a great day. I believe that to love and to be loved is the best thing in life. When I look around at my friends, I can sometimes see that they have found someone who loves them and that alone gives me hope that one day it will happen for me.

20190214_032027My grandparents were married for 63 years before my grandmother died and you know what? Their love story is the greatest love story I have ever heard. Love always finds a way. I believe in true love because of my grandparents and I know that people who are meant to be together will be.  My deepest wish always was to find someone who would love me like my grandfather loved my grandmother. They were one of a kind people but they taught me a lot about true love.

One day, I do hope that love will finally find me as well. I write about true love and I want to live it someday. As the song goes, “Someday my prince will come, someday I will find my love and what a thrilling moment it will be when the prince of my dreams comes to me…..” if only that was true. But I guess I won’t find out today. Love will come when it’s ready.

But for now, I love my family and friends and my FANTASTIC readers. So, no matter what you do today, know that someone loves you. Someone cares about you. Someone wants you to be happy. True love never disappoints so let it come and treasure it. I love you all so much. Thank you for being here with me and joining me as I write my books!

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Book Review: A Sultry Performance by Jessica Lauryn

47209148_1907854685959754_4230280243799130112_o

My Dear Readers,

Yes, that is Jessica Lauryn holding a signed copy of MY BOOK. Yes, I sent her a copy of Book 1: Forbidden Love. I have known her for almost seven years and this the first time she will be reading my book.  But that’s okay because I got a signed copy of her newest release A Sultry Performance.

I was so happy to open my mailbox and see an envelope from Jessica Lauryn. On May 7, 2017, I reviewed  Jessica Lauryn’s book, An Amorous Dance in my blog post, A Review Of An Amorous Dance By Diana Rose.

20181207_215323

Today, I’m privileged and happy to review a signed copy of A Sultry Performance. I love reviewing Jessica Lauryn’s books. She is a great person and an amazing Author.  Her books are captivating and brilliant. The first book I read and reviewed was A Passionate Play, (you can read that here: A Passionate Play Reviewed by Diana Rose) and I was instantly in love with The Rabourn Theater Series. After reading A Passionate Play and An Amorous Dance, I was eager to read A Sultry Performance.

20181207_215607.jpg

Let me tell you that A Sultry Performance did not disappoint me at all. In fact it intrigued me with each turn of the page. Victoria Morrow is a talented dancer who has been taken advantage of by her fiancee for many years. But she doesn’t allow her hardship to stop her from doing what she loves. Victoria Morrow is a strong and talented woman who wanted to one day own the nightclub she worked in. She was determined to earn enough money to own Sultry and Sensational. But, the man she worked for, Oakley Sutherland would have never allowed it. Oakley was a controlling man who manipulated people to do everything he wanted.

But, as soon as Victoria Morrow met Chris Gordon, there was an instant attraction between them. Like in any fairytale, true love’s kiss proved to be the most powerful magic of all. As soon as they share their first kiss, neither Victoria nor Chris can forget about it or erase the clear attraction they have for each other. Victoria is very stubborn and refuses to acknowledge that she is falling in love with the stage manager at Rabourn Theater. However, as time passes, both of them slowly become closer and though, Chris blackmails her to get the dancer into his house and helping his daughter,Chris soon becomes aware of his feelings for Victoria are overpowered the need to bring his wife’s killer to justice.

Over the course of the book, A Sultry Performance by Jessica Lauryn explores the idea of love overpowering the need for the greater deeds of justice and life goals. But through the struggle they both had to face, they found themselves and came to understand that the past is in the past. There are some very surprising twists and turns that Ms. Lauryn put into her book and to be honest, at times I was just as surprised as the characters in the book. I love the way she wrote this book and how each character grew in their own life experience and still related to the main characters.

Ms. Lauryn shows the best way to write a series is to show how each character progresses within the book and between books which is amazing to read. Jessica Lauryn is the sweetest lady I know and she writes her books with a lot of heart and love and I immersed myself in her story and the theater world she created immediately. I want to read more of her books. I am her biggest fan and I am grateful that we are friends for so many years because to have a good friend like Jessica Lauryn is the best thing ever ever. I do hope to get to read the rest of this wonderful series soon.

☃️Welcome to February 1st⛄

My Dear Readers,

❄☃️❄Welcome to February 1st. February 1st is not a happy day for me anymore. It used to be the annual of the day my grandparents were married and now…..it’s a memory. I still remember them but it’s been hard to know that I can’t do anything else. They would have been married for 74 years.

Happy Wedding Anniversary to the best two people I ever knew. You are greatly missed.

So, this month, I hope to continue writing Book 4 and a little bit of Book 3. Book 4 is really just so easy to write right now. Isabel is a great character. Don’t worry, I will hopefully release Book 2 this year as planned.

Hopefully, it won’t take long for me to get Book 2 out. But I really need your help, please buy Book 1: Forbidden Love and review it for me. I want to sell a little more this month. Please.

I promise to keep writing. Also, I have a new Blog post coming this weekend hoping to finish it today. Don’t miss out. I have a special book review coming out. I will be posting it everywhere so don’t miss it. I love this book so much. I love my Author friends.

Hopefully, I will have more information about Book 2 coming soon. But for now, I just want to get through today without crying.

I love you all.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

It’s going to be a great event. I am so excited about interacting with my new readers. My readers are why I’m doing this. I will definitely write about it in a blog post after.

Now, I have things to do. I have a speech to memorize. This will be the first time I ever make a speech. AHHHHH! I have not made a speech in a long time and I have stage fright so I might just have an interesting experience to write about later. But, you know what? I am going to remember this first book signing no matter what because I always wanted to go sign my book to my Readers. No matter if I mess up or not, I know that I will do great!

Excerpt #3 from Book 1: Forbidden Love

My Dear Readers,

So sorry for not posting this yesterday but to be honest, I posted it at almost 11:00pm yesterday because I really forgot about it. I hope you can forgive me.

Here’s the excerpt from Book 1: Forbidden Love by Diana Rose

Copyright 2018 by Diana Rose

“Amy, sweetheart, we are trying to protect you from anything and anyone who could hurt you.  In doing so, we ask you to pack your bags tonight. Tomorrow your father will bring you to the castle that we built just for you. We hoped that you would  move there when you were old enough to live on your own, but we suppose that right now would be a perfect time for it,” said Queen Alyona.

Amy felt the floor snatched from beneath her feet. She grew hysterical as the realization of what was happening set in. They were sending her away.  A sudden coldness hit her to the core as she stumbled backwards. Her eyes widened and she looked at her mother again. “Mother, say it isn’t so. This isn’t what you and father decided to do to me. I don’t understand why you are doing this. You are such a sweet mother and would never hurt your child, or would you?” At this point, Amy’s voice rose to a scream.. She could not believe her mother’s cruelty. The feeling of hope that once resided in her heart was now encompassed by a black hole of despair. Everything seemed to crumble around her as it was clear that her destiny had been already set in stone.

Queen Alyona spoke in a stern, authoritative tone–one that made Amy feel as if she was a culprit being sentenced for a crime. “You have no right to question our decision. Everything has been decided upon and the only thing you can do is to leave now. You may not see this today but this is for your own good, Amy. In time you will grow to understand why we did this and you will be grateful for this. But until then, we feel it is best for you to be away from this……Prince Darien. He is not worthy of you.”
