My Dear Future Readers,
Today I want to talk to you about waiting. In a way, waiting and having patience go together. Which is why I am adding in An Author’s Lesson # 5: Patience here. Waiting does require patience. But today I want to focus on waiting.
Lesson # 12: Waiting
I have always had a hard time waiting. When I was in college, I couldn’t sit still knowing that my grades were about to be posted online for finals. Yes, I checked five times a day and yes, they would not appear until it was time. I do believe most college students feel that way.
But you know, my friend, Karen D. Neal reminded me that waiting is always hard.
“It will be worth it once you are done.” – Karen D. Neal, Author of She He Them: Full Circle
I believe that this is true. That’s why I keep going because reaching my goal is worth it.
Waiting for something is really hard but I think that it is possible if you know that it is something good. Learning to wait is a long lesson. I haven’t been able to master this lesson myself. I guess it’s a lesson we will be learning together.
But I do think I have one suggestion that might help.
Try to do something else while you wait.
Otherwise, you will be anxious. Trust me, it works for me. It should work for you.
What I do to distract myself from waiting?
- I read books.
- I watch cartoons.
- I write more books.
- I try imagining the good things that will happen when the wait is over.
- I talk to my friends.
- I help my author friends promote their books.
If any of these sound good to you, try it. Maybe, my methods will help you.
I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.
