Remembering My Grandparents Wedding Anniversary

My Dear Future Readers

Today is a very special day. Today is my grandparents 73rd Wedding Anniversary. Yes, they were married on February 1st. They are both gone now but my mom and I still remember this day. We spend the day talking and remembering what great people they were.

My grandfather served in WWII. He was the bravest man I have ever known. My grandfather was a rare optimist. He believed that no matter what everything would be alright. My grandfather was and forever will be my example of how a man should treat his wife and family.

My grandmother always worried about everything but she knew that my grandfather would make everything alright.  They lived a happy life because they understood each other and each of them made sure that the other was happy.

In their house, I felt at peace. It made me happy to see the kind of love they shared. They were an example of the kind of love that can only be identified as true love. Yes, true love. My grandparents story is a real story of true love.

My grandmother once said, “He is my husband, my doctor, my angel, and just a good person.”

That touched me and I know that she meant every word.  My grandfather was always taking care of her. They took care of each other.

My grandmother loved telling me her parent’s story which I wrote down in a blog post ( Forbidden Fruit of the Heart).

I miss going to see them. It was always reassuring to talk to my grandparents.  Their relationship was a love story in itself that I can never forget. It feels like they are sitting right here with me on some days even though they are gone, my mom and I still remember this day and celebrate the day talking and remembering them. We eat and talk about all the good memories. There really isn’t anything bad that I can say.

Each of them have taught me about life and love. I miss them both and I really hope that they are proud of me wherever they are.

I remember singing old songs with my grandfather would make my grandmother happy. He loved singing for her. Wherever I think of them, I think of how they always wanted me to be successful.

My grandparents story was made into this blog post, A Beautiful Love Story by Geetan Jalihad  for Valentine’s Day because I want everyone to know what beautiful people they were. There are no other two people like them anymore but I do hope that my books show how true love can be real because I saw it everyday when my grandparents were alive. Those memories will stay forever.

Happy 73rd Wedding Anniversary! I miss you both so much. We love you and remember you forever.

I look forward to hearing from you soon. I thank you all for your infinite support.

Yours Truly,

Diana Rose
